Rachel H. Graham, MBA

Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder

Rachel H. Graham, MBA, is Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of Healing Springs Ranch. Her path into addiction treatment began as the family member of a loved one whose trauma and co-occurring conditions were repeatedly overlooked by programs that focused on symptoms alone. That experience shaped Healing Springs Ranch's founding vision: a residential program that addresses the root causes of addiction and engages the entire family in the healing process. Rachel leads the organization alongside its founding clinical team, holding the program to the standards that originally motivated its creation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who founded Healing Springs Ranch?

Healing Springs Ranch was co-founded by Rachel H. Graham, MBA, who serves as Chief Executive Officer, and Melissa Caldwell Engle, MS, LPC, ATR, who serves as Chief Clinical Officer. The legal entity was formed in 2015 and the ranch opened to clients in 2016. Rachel came to addiction treatment as the family member of a loved one whose trauma and co-occurring conditions were repeatedly overlooked by programs that treated symptoms alone.

Who leads clinical care at Healing Springs Ranch?

Melissa Caldwell Engle, MS, LPC, ATR, Co-founder and Chief Clinical Officer. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Art Therapist with more than 25 years of experience treating trauma and addiction. Before co-founding Healing Springs Ranch, she spent 20 years as Executive Clinical Director at the Ross Institute for Psychological Trauma, clinically managing three inpatient programs under Colin A. Ross, M.D., and helped develop the Trauma Model that informs our approach today.

Is there a psychiatrist on staff?

Yes. Pavan Pamadurthi, M.D., is Medical Director at Healing Springs Ranch. He is a board-certified psychiatrist and Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, specializing in the evaluation and treatment of anxiety, mood disorders, and ADHD. He oversees psychiatric assessment, medication management, and the integration of medical care with the broader clinical model.

What credentials does the clinical team hold?

The clinical team is built around master's-level licensed clinicians, including Licensed Professional Counselors and LPC Supervisors, a Registered Art Therapist, and a board-certified psychiatrist. They are supported by a dedicated nursing team, behavioral health technicians, and adjunctive counselors. Clinicians are trauma-trained, which matters because our model treats addiction as an attempt to manage unresolved emotional pain rather than as a standalone condition.

How does the team build a treatment plan?

Each client is assessed individually and a plan is built around what that assessment finds, rather than assigning everyone to a fixed track. Clinicians work with the client to select from evidence-based and experiential approaches — EMDR, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Emotional Transformation Therapy, psychodrama, art therapy, somatic processing, and group work — and treat co-occurring mental health conditions alongside the addiction. Typical residential stay is 30 to 45 days.
