Mental Health, Trauma & Addiction Treatment
What does Healing Springs Ranch treat?
Healing Springs Ranch provides an integrative treatment model for mental health disorders, trauma, and substance use disorders — and the complex ways these conditions interact. Our clients come to us for help with:
- Mental health conditions — depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress injury (PTSI) – also known as PTSD, schizophrenia, dissociative identity disorder (DID), bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder (BPD), and many more
- Trauma — childhood trauma, abuse, neglect, combat trauma, first-responder trauma, grief, and other traumatic experiences that continue to affect daily life
- Substance use disorders — alcohol addiction, opioid and fentanyl addiction, cocaine and stimulant addiction, methamphetamine addiction, prescription drug abuse, heroin addiction, benzodiazepine addiction, inhalant abuse, kratom addiction, synthetic marijuana, hallucinogens, and marijuana dependency
- Process addictions — gambling, sex and pornography, shopping, internet, and work addiction
Most of our clients are dealing with more than one of these issues at the same time — and many have been told their case is too complex for other facilities. Healing Springs Ranch is known for treating complex co-occurring diagnoses that other programs are not equipped to handle. Our Integrated Wellness Model is built to treat the whole person — addressing the root causes that drive addictive behaviors, not just the surface symptoms.
Do you treat mental health conditions without substance abuse?
Yes. While many of our clients have co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders, we also treat individuals whose primary struggle is a mental health condition or unresolved trauma. Depression, anxiety, PTSI – also known as PTSD, schizophrenia, dissociative identity disorder, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, and other complex psychiatric conditions can be just as debilitating as addiction — and they deserve the same level of intensive, residential care.
Our clinical team includes licensed therapists who specialize in mental health treatment and trauma resolution, with particular expertise in complex cases involving multiple co-occurring diagnoses. Clients come to us from across the United States and around the world — often because they need a level of integrated care that is difficult to find elsewhere.
How does Healing Springs Ranch approach trauma treatment?
Trauma is at the center of our treatment philosophy. Research consistently shows that unresolved trauma is one of the primary drivers of both addiction and chronic mental health conditions. At Healing Springs Ranch, we don’t just acknowledge trauma — we actively work to resolve it.
We practice trauma resolution treatment, which goes far beyond “trauma-informed care.” While many facilities claim to be trauma-informed (meaning they are aware of how trauma affects people and try to avoid re-traumatization), we use evidence-based therapeutic approaches to help clients process and resolve the traumatic experiences that are fueling their addiction, depression, anxiety, or other conditions.
This distinction is a key part of what sets our program apart. By addressing the trauma at the root, our clients experience deeper and more lasting recovery.
What is the difference between dual diagnosis and co-occurring disorders?
These terms are used interchangeably in the treatment field. “Dual diagnosis” typically refers to one mental health condition alongside a substance use disorder. “Co-occurring disorders” is a broader term that accounts for the reality that many people have multiple conditions at once — for example, PTSI – also known as PTSD, depression, and alcohol addiction.
At Healing Springs Ranch, we treat the full picture regardless of how many diagnoses are involved. In fact, we are known for our ability to treat complex co-occurring presentations — clients with three, four, or more simultaneous diagnoses who need truly integrated care. Our Integrated Wellness Model was designed specifically for this level of complexity, because treating one condition without the others leads to incomplete recovery.

Admissions & Getting Started
How do I know if I or my loved one needs treatment?
Recognizing that something is wrong — whether it’s addiction, a mental health crisis, or the lasting effects of trauma — is one of the most difficult steps. You or your loved one may benefit from residential treatment (also known as inpatient treatment — meaning you live at the facility full-time) if you are experiencing any of the following:
- Persistent feelings of depression, hopelessness, or emotional numbness that don’t improve
- Anxiety, panic attacks, or hypervigilance that interfere with daily functioning
- Hearing voices, experiencing paranoia, or feeling disconnected from reality
- Flashbacks, nightmares, or emotional reactions tied to past traumatic experiences
- Extreme mood swings, unstable relationships, or difficulty regulating emotions
- Using drugs or alcohol to cope with emotional pain, stress, or mental health symptoms
- Needing more of a substance over time to get the same effect
- Failed attempts to stop using on your own or to manage mental health symptoms with outpatient care alone
- Difficulty maintaining relationships, employment, or daily responsibilities
- Mood swings, irritability, withdrawal from loved ones, or personality changes
If any of these sound familiar, we encourage you to call us at (866) 656-8384 for a free, confidential assessment. There is no obligation — just honest guidance.
What is the admissions process?
Our admissions process is designed to be as simple and stress-free as possible:
- Call us at (866) 656-8384 — our admissions team is available to take your call and answer any questions
- Free assessment — We conduct a brief clinical assessment to understand the situation and determine the right level of care, whether the primary concern is addiction, mental health, trauma, or a combination
- Insurance verification — Our team will verify your insurance benefits and explain any costs
- Coordinate arrival — We help you plan your travel to our facility in Tioga, Texas, including ground transportation from detox if needed
In many cases, admission can happen within 24-48 hours of your first call.
What should I pack for treatment?
We want you to be comfortable during your stay. Here are some suggestions:
- Comfortable shoes for activities and walking around the ranch
- Casual, weather-appropriate clothing (enough for about one week — we provide laundry services during your stay)
- Personal hygiene items (non-alcohol-based)
- A journal or notebook
- Approved medications in their original prescription bottles
- A valid photo ID and insurance card
Our admissions team will provide a complete packing list and let you know what items are not permitted on campus. Call (866) 656-8384 with any questions about what to bring.
How long is the treatment program?
Our treatment programs are typically 30 to 45 days, though the exact length of stay depends on the individualized treatment plan our clinical team creates for each client. Factors that influence length of stay include the severity of the addiction, the complexity of co-occurring mental health and trauma conditions, and overall treatment progress.
Research shows that longer stays in residential treatment (inpatient care where you live on-site) are associated with better long-term outcomes — particularly for clients working through deep-seated trauma or complex mental health conditions. Our clinical team will recommend the length of stay that gives you the best chance at lasting recovery.
Insurance & Cost
Does Healing Springs Ranch accept insurance?
Yes. Healing Springs Ranch is in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) and Health Choice, meaning clients with these plans typically have lower out-of-pocket costs.
We also work with clients who have out-of-network insurance benefits. Our dedicated utilization review team works directly with insurance providers to help clients secure the maximum coverage and reimbursement possible for their treatment. We have experience working with a wide range of insurance carriers through the out-of-network benefits process.
Contact our admissions team at (866) 656-8384 for a free, confidential insurance verification. We will explain your benefits and any expected costs before you commit to treatment.
How much does treatment cost?
Healing Springs Ranch offers competitive rates based on the length of stay, which typically ranges from 30 to 45 days. Your treatment cost includes everything: clinical treatment, semi-private housing, three chef-prepared nutritious meals daily, laundry services, and all activities including golf, swimming, and yoga.
The exact cost varies depending on the individualized program our clinical team creates for each client. Our admissions team will provide a clear breakdown of costs and work with you on a payment plan if needed. We are committed to making treatment accessible.
Call (866) 656-8384 to discuss pricing and payment options.
What if my insurance is out-of-network?
We work with out-of-network insurance providers regularly. Our utilization review team will contact your insurance company, verify your out-of-network benefits, and advocate on your behalf to secure the best possible coverage for your treatment.
Many insurance plans provide out-of-network benefits that cover a significant portion of residential treatment costs. Our team handles all of the paperwork and coordination so you can focus on recovery. We will give you a clear picture of your expected benefits before you begin treatment.
Detox & Medical Care
Does Healing Springs Ranch provide detox services?
Healing Springs Ranch does not provide detox on site. When medically supervised detox is needed, it is completed first at a licensed partner facility. Our intake and admissions specialists handle all coordination and logistics for detox admission, making the process seamless for clients and their families.
In most cases, we provide ground transportation from the detox facility directly to our ranch once the detox process is complete. The transition from detox to residential treatment is carefully managed to ensure continuity of care.
What is the detox process like?
Medical detox is the process of safely removing substances from the body under medical supervision. Depending on the substance and severity of use, detox typically lasts 3 to 10 days. During this time, a medical team monitors vital signs, manages withdrawal symptoms with appropriate medications, and ensures the client’s safety and comfort.
Detox is an important first step, but it is not treatment by itself. After detox, clients transition into our residential program where the real work of recovery begins — addressing the underlying trauma, mental health conditions, and behavioral patterns that drive addiction.
Life at Healing Springs Ranch
What is a typical day like in treatment?
Each day at Healing Springs Ranch includes a structured but comfortable schedule designed to support healing across mental health, trauma, and addiction:
- Morning: Breakfast, morning meditation or reflection, and group therapy sessions
- Midday: Individual therapy (including trauma-focused sessions), psychoeducation groups, and lunch
- Afternoon: Experiential therapy, recreational activities (golf, swimming, and yoga), and skill-building workshops
- Evening: Dinner, support group meetings, journaling, and personal time
Our ranch setting in Tioga, Texas provides a peaceful, confidential environment that is removed from the triggers and stresses of everyday life, allowing clients to focus entirely on their recovery.
Where is Healing Springs Ranch located?
Healing Springs Ranch is located at 100 S. Texas Street in Tioga, Texas — a quiet, rural community approximately one hour north of Dallas and Fort Worth. Our confidential ranch setting provides a serene, distraction-free environment ideal for healing from addiction, mental health disorders, and trauma.
We serve clients from throughout Texas, across the United States, and around the world. Our clients travel from the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, other Texas cities, other states, and internationally — often seeking us out specifically for our expertise in complex co-occurring diagnoses. Our admissions team can help arrange airport pickup regardless of where you are located.
Can family members visit during treatment?
Yes, family involvement is an important part of the recovery process. Healing Springs Ranch offers a virtual Family Intensive Program, weekly family support calls, and the opportunity for family members to participate in individual therapy sessions as the client permits.
Each of these is focused on rebuilding relationships, improving communication, and educating family members about mental health, trauma, and addiction.
Visitation policies and schedules are discussed during the admissions process. Our clinical team will work with you and your family to ensure that family involvement supports — rather than disrupts — the treatment process.
What is a process addiction?
A process addiction is an addiction to an activity or behavior rather than a substance. Unlike drug or alcohol addiction, a process addiction involves compulsive engagement in activities such as:
- Gambling
- Sex or pornography (also known as problematic sexual behavior / hypersexual disorder)
- Shopping and spending
- Internet and social media
- Gaming
- Work (workaholism)
- Love addiction
- Exercise
- Disordered eating
Process addictions follow the same neurological patterns as substance addictions and are often rooted in the same underlying trauma or mental health conditions. At Healing Springs Ranch, our Integrated Wellness Model treats process addictions by addressing the underlying function the behavior serves, getting to the root cause before it evolves into another form of addiction.
After Treatment
What happens after I complete treatment?
Recovery does not end when you leave our facility. Before discharge, our clinical team works with each client to develop a comprehensive aftercare plan that may include:
- Referrals to outpatient therapists and psychiatrists in your home area for continued mental health care
- Continuing care recommendations and relapse prevention strategies
- Connection to alumni resources and peer support networks
- Family follow-up recommendations
- Ongoing trauma therapy referrals where needed
The transition from residential treatment back to daily life is one of the most critical phases of recovery. A solid aftercare plan significantly increases the chances of long-term stability and sobriety.
What is the difference between inpatient and outpatient treatment?
Residential treatment (also called inpatient treatment) means living at the treatment facility full-time, typically for 30 to 90 days. Clients receive 24/7 support, structured daily programming, and are removed from the environments and triggers associated with their struggles. Residential treatment is recommended for moderate to severe addiction, complex trauma, and mental health conditions that have not responded to outpatient care alone.
Outpatient treatment allows clients to live at home while attending treatment sessions several times per week. Outpatient is often used as a step-down from residential treatment or for less severe cases.
Healing Springs Ranch specializes in residential treatment and partners with outpatient providers for step-down care when needed.
