Quick answer: Healing Springs Ranch is a Joint Commission–accredited residential treatment center on a private 80-acre ranch in Tioga, Texas, about an hour north of DFW. We treat substance use, mental health and trauma together, which matters for high-functioning professionals, whose struggles rarely have a single cause. Residential stays typically last 30 to 45 days, and nothing about your treatment is shared with your employer or anyone else without your written consent.
Who is this program for?
The people who reach us from the executive and professional world tend to share a pattern. They have been managing, often impressively, for a long time. They are still delivering at work, which makes it easy for everyone, including themselves, to explain the warning signs away. And when they look at treatment, they worry about two things above all: whether it will be clinically serious enough, and whether it will be private.
This page is for them, and for the people researching on their behalf: the spouse who has been carrying the weight, the physician who recommended an evaluation, the executive coach who sees what the board doesn’t, and the EAP contact arranging the leave.
Why do senior professionals choose Healing Springs Ranch?
Privacy is the baseline
Healing Springs Ranch sits on 80 private acres in rural Tioga, well away from Dallas professional and social circles. Substance use treatment records are protected by federal confidentiality rules (42 CFR Part 2), which go beyond standard HIPAA protections. We never confirm that someone is a client without their written consent.
Treatment built for the high-functioning presentation
High-functioning addiction rarely follows the “rock bottom” story. More often it looks like drinking that became the only way to come down at night, a prescription for sleep or focus that quietly became a dependency, or burnout that no amount of time off seems to fix. Underneath, we usually find anxiety, depression, perfectionism or trauma that has been driving the pattern for years.
Everything treated together
Our Integrated Wellness Model treats substance use, mental health and trauma as connected rather than as separate problems handled in separate tracks. We routinely accept clients with complex co-occurring diagnoses that other residential programs decline.
Real distance, without being out of reach
The ranch is about an hour north of DFW: far enough that you are genuinely away from the office and the social calendar, and close enough that family involvement and a planned return are practical.
Clients come to us from across Texas and beyond, including Highland Park, Preston Hollow and Southlake in DFW; Westover Hills, Rivercrest and Tanglewood in Fort Worth; and River Oaks, Memorial, West University Place and The Woodlands in Houston.
What conditions do we treat most often in professionals?
- Alcohol use disorder, often long-standing and described as “managed.”
- Prescription medication dependence, including benzodiazepines for sleep or anxiety, stimulants for focus, and opioids that began with a legitimate prescription.
- Co-occurring mental health conditions, such as depression, anxiety, panic disorder, PTSD and bipolar disorder.
- Trauma, including the cumulative, often unspoken kind that high-responsibility roles produce.
- Process addictions such as gambling, compulsive work, and sex or pornography, which often sit alongside substance use.
- Burnout that has become the soil the other problems grow in.
How is treatment structured?
- A full clinical and psychiatric assessment at admission, so treatment is planned around the whole picture.
- Individual therapy with master’s-level licensed clinicians, alongside group therapy.
- Trauma resolution work, beyond being trauma-informed, including Emotional Transformation Therapy (ETT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
- Psychiatric care and a dedicated nursing team for medication management and co-occurring conditions.
- Expressive and experiential therapies, relapse prevention and life-skills work.
- Family therapy, with family sessions and support programming through video conferencing.
- Aftercare planning that starts early, including a plan for returning to work.
Residential stays typically last 30 to 45 days and are set by the clinical picture, not the calendar. We also offer partial hospitalization (PHP) as a step-down level of care.
A note on detox: we do not provide detox on site. When medically supervised detox is needed, our admissions team coordinates it through partner facilities, and admission to the ranch follows once the client is stable.
Do you work with professional licensing boards?
Yes. For many professionals, treatment happens alongside obligations to a licensing board. We work with the licensing boards for pilots, physicians, nurses, attorneys, CPAs and other licensed professionals, with your written consent, so that treatment and your professional obligations move forward together. Requirements differ by profession and by state, and our admissions team will talk through your situation before you arrive.
Can my physician or executive coach stay involved?
Yes, if you want them to be. With your written consent, our clinical team works with your personal physician and coordinates your aftercare plan with them at discharge. We also work with executive coaches during treatment, so the coaching relationship can support your return to leadership. Nothing is shared without your consent, and you decide who is involved.
What is daily life at the ranch like?
Treatment is the center of every day, and the setting supports it. Clients stay in semi-private rooms, eat chef-prepared, nutritious meals and have laundry service included. Between sessions there is a 9-hole par-3 golf course, a swimming pool, a full fitness facility, yoga and meditation, mindful walks on the grounds, and catch-and-release fishing on our private lake. Frequently Asked Questions
How long will I need to be away from work?
Residential stays typically last 30 to 45 days. Length of stay is clinically determined and can be extended when indicated. We will give you our honest estimate during the admissions conversation.
Will my employer find out?
Not from us. Federal confidentiality rules (42 CFR Part 2) protect substance use treatment records, and we share nothing with your employer or anyone else without your written consent. How you frame your leave is your decision, and our team can help you think it through.
Can I work while I’m in treatment?
Treatment comes first, but we understand that some responsibilities can’t simply stop. We can work with executives to schedule periodic office time during treatment, planned around the clinical schedule.
How do I take a leave of absence?
Professionals commonly use FMLA, short-term disability or personal leave. The right route depends on your employer and benefits; our admissions team talks this through regularly, and your HR department or an employment attorney can confirm the specifics.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes. We are in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Health Choice, Magellan and Employers Health Network, work with out-of-network benefits, and offer private-pay options. We do not accept Medicare or Medicaid. See Financial Options.
What about my professional license?
We work with the licensing boards for pilots, physicians, nurses, attorneys, CPAs and other licensed professionals, with your written consent. Requirements differ by profession and state, so we’ll talk through your situation during admissions. If anything has already been reported, we also recommend involving an attorney who specializes in your licensing area.
How do I get to the ranch?
The ranch is about an hour north of DFW. Clients flying in are picked up from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport or Dallas Love Field.
How does admission work?
- A confidential call. Often with a spouse, sometimes after hours. There is no obligation, and we will tell you honestly whether we are the right fit.
- Clinical assessment and insurance verification or private-pay arrangements.
- Planning: leave of absence, detox coordination if it is needed, and your arrival.
- Arrival and intake at the ranch.
